The Geometry of Coincidence

Released January 9, 2026

The new Random Rab album arrives in early 2026, marking a fresh chapter in sound and storytelling. I’m honored once again to feature cover art by the incomparable Android Jones, whose work continues to elevate the music beyond the sonic realm. The artwork depicts a figure reaching toward “the source,” unaware that he is already dissolving into it—a visual meditation on life’s cyclical nature and the paradox of seeking the mysteries of existence while being intrinsically woven into them.

The album was specifically designed and arranged to unfold in four movements, naturally aligned with the four sides of the double vinyl. I put a lot of thought and care into creating this music specifically for the vinyl, so that each disc could encapsulate two different moods or settings. Record 1 is both exhilarating, euphoric, and upbeat, with a side of booty dropping bass…. custom made for the times you want to put on a record and dance around the kitchen or living room. Record 2 is more melodic and down tempo, great for setting the mood, introspection, game nights with friends, dinner parties or times when you feel like a slow dance and sway is more your vibe. The 4 sections are:

  1. Joy (Dusk)

  2. Club Set (Dark)

  3. Deep (Dawn)

  4. Beauty (Day)

Section 1 Dusk/Joy opens with music centered on movement, familiarity, and uplifting tracks inspired in part by African soukous, progressive house and other celebratory dance traditions. These songs are meant to spark joy and forward motion.

Section 2 Dark/Club Set carries the energy into the late-night realm. Music built for immersive club systems and festival nights, highlighting the beauty of darkness and the connective force found within it.

Section 3 Dawn/Deep slows the pace and deepens the introspection. These pieces invite internal exploration and feature several cherished collaborators:

  • CloZee, who co-produced and performed guzheng on The Crown

  • Me~She (Michele Rodriguez), who appears on The Crown, Taker of Sound (co-writer and vocals), and select passages of Nocturnal Mirage

  • Lapa (Ilya Goldberg), who contributed production and violin to Sumbra

  • Members of Lift the Spirit Choir: Deborah Clendenning, Andrea Enright, Marissa Kinsley, Elle Logan, David Meehan, Leigh Orne, Roy Willey, and Evan Williams who contributed to Taker of Sound

Section 4 Day/Beauty closes the journey with a set of gentler compositions—music for soft landings, reflection, and return.
